SOLID TIMBER FLOORING

BLACKBUTT
Heartwood pale brown, but northern material may sometimes display a slight pinkish tinge. Sapwood distinctively paler. Texture medium and even. Grain usually straight. Gum veins are common.

SPOTTED GUM
Heartwood pale to dark brown or chocolate. Sapwood is distinctively paler but there maybe a zone of intermediate wood. Texture moderately coarse. Grain variable, the frequent presence of wavy grain produces an attractive fiddleback figure. Slightly greasy nature. Gum veins common. Northern material is usually slightly denser, stronger and more durable than southern. Also known as Lemon Scented Gum.

SYDNEY BLUE GUM
Sydney Blue Gum is one of the more popular eastern Australian red timbers. Colours vary within the middle range of reds, brown hues are also common. The timber is relatively hardy and has an attractive lustre which can result in an impressive polish.

RED MAHOGANY
This is an Australian hardwood with a fine grain and stunning red colouring. This timber is extremely diverse and is used for engineering applications, construction, furniture and turnery.

BRUSHBOX
A pinkish grey to rich reddish brown. The texture is fine and even. The grain is usually interlocked to varying degrees.

IRONBARK
One of the hardest hardwood flooring timbers in the world, combining an inspiring cathedral grain pattern with a deep dark rouge colour.
